Will self-driving vehicles be the future? While many are excited for the implementation of this new technology, what risks can we expect when the technology becomes more affordable for the average consumer? Recently, the car manufacturer, Tesla, has been making large advancements in their “Autopilot” feature in their Tesla cars. This however, has not come without failure. In April 2018, there have been many Autopilot related crashes in the new Tesla vehicles. While this car feature is desired by many, incidents such as the Tesla’s, show that the technology is not where it has to be to promote safe usage for the consumers. Hopefully in the near future, autonomous vehicles can be improved so that anyone can put their faith into the technology if they use it.
